With every client, Jeff Wilkinson R.A. strives to create compelling
architectural statements that are at home in their rural surroundings
of New York's Hudson Valley. We are also noticeably sensitive in the
execution of urban projects seeking to use the fabric of the community
in the design. The design approach is characterized by a mix of traditional
and vernacular forms integrated with modern needs. The office is committed
to Sustainable Design which acknowledges the factors of eco-design and
environmental issues. The firm has also gained a great deal of expertise
in the field of historic restoration having worked on projects originally
designed by such notable architects as Stanford White, Richard Morris
Hunt and Calvert Vaux.
Typically the firm handles eight to ten projects a year and provides
a full range of services including site planning, master planning, interior
detailing, furniture design and lighting design. Each project is viewed
as a unique design opportunity. While computers are an essential part
of the construction detailing and production process, a great deal of
emphasis is still put on freehand drawing and model building. It is
our belief that these are still valuable architectural tools and hopefully
the examples we have provided on this site will confirm this effort.
Ultimately, Jeff Wilkinson R.A. would like to reunite the concept of
architect and master builder to its essence and that the work done by
this office will stand the test of time.
